SOS is led by Janice Flemming-Butler, a longtime community organizer and political consultant. Her work has successfully shaped development projects in school construction, sports facilities and housing, changing the trajectory of support from a community perspective. With a commitment to community empowerment and respect among community leaders, she has established a reputation for results.

In fact, much of our experience has been devoted to incorporating voice of underserved communities in ensuring the success of development projects. PROJECTS

Arcadis/O&G – Representing program and construction firm Arcadis Construction and construction services firm O&G; Industries, the program management collaborative was selected to oversee the renovations of several Hartford public schools.

Centerplan – National company delivering services in real estate development, acquisition, and asset repositioning on commercial and residential properties, and developer for Dunkin Donuts Park baseball stadium.

Overlook Village Redevelopment Associates – A partnership among Stamford-based JHM Financial Group, the Richman Group Development Corp., Imagineers LLC and Nutmeg Planners LLC, selected by the Hartford Housing Authority to redevelop the Bowles Park public housing complex.

PLANNING

OUR STORY

Strategic Outreach Solutions was established in 2015 in response to the increasing need in urban communities for a means to strategically communicate their priorities to residents and other stakeholders.

While a newspaper article or municipal hearing is intended to provide information on development and other projects, reaching urban constituencies often requires a more comprehensive approach.

Utilizing years of experience organizing and informing communities, SOS serves as a critical bridge between institutions and the communities they serve.
